Privacy Policy

The short version

tg-dl is designed so that your videos are none of our business. Video files are downloaded by the browser extension directly from Telegram's servers to your computer, through your own Telegram Web session. Our servers never receive, store, or process video content.

What we collect

  • Account data: your email address and a bcrypt hash of your password, used to log you in.
  • Quota counters: how many downloads and link parses you perform each day, used solely to enforce plan quotas. These are plain per-day counters, not analytics or usage statistics, and they are not tied to which videos or chats you access.
  • Billing data: order records (plan, amount, status). Card and crypto payment details are handled entirely by our payment processors (LemonSqueezy and NOWPayments) — we never see your card number or wallet keys.
  • Link parse requests: when you paste a public t.me link, we fetch that message's metadata (title, size, duration, thumbnail) to display it back to you. We do not build a history of your links for any other purpose.

We do not collect analytics, advertising data, or any other usage statistics.

What we never collect

  • Video, photo, audio, or document content — bytes flow from Telegram to your browser only and never pass through our servers.
  • Your Telegram credentials, session keys, messages, or contacts.
  • Your browsing history, inside or outside of the tg-dl website.

Where your data is stored

Your account, quota counters, and order records are stored in a SQLite database on our own dedicated server. We do not use third-party databases or cloud-hosted analytics platforms, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone except the payment processors needed to complete a purchase.

Browser extension

The extension stores your login token and settings locally in chrome.storage. It contacts our API only to validate your account and quota. It does not include analytics or tracking of any kind.

Cookies and local storage

The website stores your login token in localStorage. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

Data retention and deletion

Account data is kept while your account exists. To delete your account and all associated data, email 51gshyj@gmail.com from your registered address and we will remove it within 30 days.
